AR Zoo

AR Zoo combines marker-based augmented reality with immersive exploration to create a unique virtual zoo experience.

The application starts with a marker-based AR scene where users scan animal images to spawn detailed 3D animal models in the real world. Each animal can be rotated and scaled for close inspection, allowing users to interact with the models naturally. Selected animals can be added to a persistent collection, enabling users to build their own custom zoo over time.

Once animals are collected, users can switch to the Forest View, a virtual environment where all added animals appear together inside a stylized forest. The camera revolves smoothly around the forest using the device’s gyroscope for an immersive viewing experience. On devices without a gyroscope, the system automatically switches to accelerometer-based controls to ensure broad device compatibility. Manual touch-drag rotation is also supported.

Additional interactive features enhance the experience, including a sky-switching system that changes the atmosphere of the forest and a clear forest option that removes all animals and resets the scene. Animal data is stored locally, ensuring progress persists across sessions.

AR Zoo is designed as a polished AR showcase, demonstrating real-time marker detection, 3D interaction, motion-controlled camera systems, and persistent scene management in a cohesive and user-friendly experience.
